Celebrating Older Adults at WHCHC
May is Older Adults Month! We celebrated our wonderful residents all month long. More than half of WHCHC’s 1,175 residents are above the age of 55, and more than 100 residents are above the age of 80. Our community shines bright thanks to our older adult residents sharing wisdom with their neighbors.

At WHCHC, some of our Resident Services Coordinators are specifically trained to work with older adults. Our Resident Services Team uses the Healthy Aging Program Initiative (HAPI) to provide a robust menu of services for said residents. This program is tailored to ensure our older adult residents remain stable in their housing, live independently, are engaged in community activities, and age in place with dignity.

This month, the energy was palpable at events throughout our communities. Our Resident Services Team led numerous community activities. In West Hollywood, Hayworth House residents decorated rocks around their garden. Just around the corner, Laurel Norton and Movietown Square residents received goodie bags. In Los Angeles, Westmore Linden residents created a memorable art mosaic. What a month!
Youth Garden Beautification Project
Not to be outdone! Channeling the exuberant energy of our younger residents, our Resident Services Families Team created a fun new project to encourage engagement, creative thinking, and creative expression. Introducing… The Manzanita Pride Project! The kids at Vermont Manzanita beautified their home by painting the community garden planters, right on site.
Myth Busting, Thanks To SCANPH
