March 2022
March is a month full of important moments to note. We celebrate the first day of Spring, honor International Women's Day and observe Transgender Day of Visibility, to name just a few.
Honoring International Women's Day
What better way to enjoy live music than right outside your front door? Our creative Resident Services team organized an outdoor celebration for International Women's Day and the sounds of merriment rang through the air at Movietown Square. Residents sang, clapped, and a few danced, along with multi-lingual performer Liza Shein.
International Transgender Day of Visibility
International Transgender Day of Visibility is a global annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society. The city of West Hollywood has dedicated a week to honor the occasion. For more information click here
The Courtyard at La Brea Marks 8 Years
Congratulations to the multiple award-winning Courtyard at La Brea celebrating eight years since its grand opening in March 2014. This 32 unit apartment community has flourished in the neighborhood while sustaining a stunning physical appearance. A deep appreciation for a strong sense of community is undeniable among the diverse resident population. Original residents recently expressed their love for their homes. Angelo reminded us, “I look out on my patio and thank the universe.” See more of our housing communities here
SCANPH's Houser Hour
WHCHC's very own CEO, Jesse Slansky, moderated SCANPH’s Houser Hour featuring Cheri Todoroff, Interim Director of LA County's Homeless Initiative. During the live webinar on March 15th, Todoroff answered questions regarding the county's homeless initiative and contributed an update on affordable housing projects. Watch the full interview here
