Berendo Sage will be the new construction of forty-two (42) affordable rental apartments units in the Pico-Union area of the City of Los Angeles. Twenty-one (21) units will be reserved for formerly homeless individuals and families. Twenty (20) units will house low-income households and families making up to 60% of the area median income (AMI). Berendo Sage will be mix of one, two and three bedrooms, with one two-bedroom unit reserved for a full-time onsite building manager. All of the units will be fully accessible to persons with mobility impairments and two units will be accessible to persons with sensory impairments.
Berendo Sage will include a roof-top community room with kitchenette and computer area that opens onto an outdoor open space, a manager's office and two offices for service providers. It also includes a lobby, secured mail area, and laundry room.
As at all of our apartment communities, WHCHC’s resident services staff will offer voluntary, on-site, comprehensive supportive services free of charge to all residents, and will partner with specialized case-management service providers for our formerly homeless residents.
Berendo Sage is scheduled to break ground in March 2020.
