Agave at Palm Canyon (2023)
West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is pleased to present its first affordable housing apartment community in Palm Springs. WHCHC’s Agave at Palm Canyon will be new construction of 71 one-bedroom rental apartments located on N. Palm Canyon Drive and Stevens Road in the City of Palm Springs. Agave at Palm Canyon will provide desperately needed high-quality affordable housing to low-income seniors age 62 and greater. Of the 71 units, 25 will be reserved as permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless seniors. Two units will be reserved for two fulltime on-site building managers. All of the units will incude universal design principles so residents can age in place and not be displaced. Plans call for an amenity-rich environment and include a resident community room with demonstration kitchen, computer room, fitness room, laundry room and central outdoor open space. Offices and resident amenities will be located along N. Palm Canyon Drive designed to activate the streetscape and to allow passive interaction between residents and the activity along the street. Agave at Palm Canyon also includes a dog-friendly pit-stop/watering station.
Offices will be included for building management and onsite supportive services for residents. Construction for Agave at Palm Canyon is planned to commence in early 2022, with a scheduled completion in mid-2023.
Mariposa Lily is new construction of a forty-one (41) unit intergenerational affordable housing community for low- and very low-income families and seniors in the Koreatown/Pico-Union neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles. Mariposa Lily will be a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental apartments, with half of the units designated as permanent supportive housing (PSH) for formerly homeless community members. One unit will be reserved for an on-site property manager.
Common-area amenities will include a rooftop patio, a community room with kitchenette, a computer area, a laundry room, a bike storage room, two social services offices, and one property management office. Each unit will include universal design principles to be fully accessible for people with and without mobility impairments, which facilitates aging in place.
Mariposa Lily is scheduled to break ground in June 2020.
As at all of our apartment communities, WHCHC’s resident services staff will offer voluntary, on-site, comprehensive supportive services free of charge to all residents, and will partner with specialized case-management service providers for our formerly homeless residents.
